I’m interested in libraries. . . most any library. You can tell a lot about a person by their garbage and their library. That’s weird. This is a catalog of the library of one H.P. Lovecraft and it makes for rather interesting reading. The guy had a great number of interesting books. Sure, there’s a lot of fiction in this catalog, a great many classics (you’d suspect as much from reading HPL) but there’s also a good number of books on spirituality, reference works, history, poetry, biographies and other books and subjects you might not suspect would be of interest to Lovecraft. Since we can’t go through his garbage, have a look at Lovecraft’s letters and his library and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what the guy was all about. The first edition of this book was published more than 20 years ago, this edition is substantially revised and enlarged and catalogs more than 1085 books. #60998
