The Emperor's Pavement

Les Editions de L’Oubli (Ex Occidente Press):
Bucharest: 2013
First edition, Hardcover, Limited, New in dust jacket,
64 pp.

This edition limited to 141 numbered copies. Yes, it’s beautiful too. John Howard loves the city of Berlin and has been there many times. From what I can gather these pages reflect his intimate relationship with the city. The city seems to act as launchpad for Howard’s writings here that are launched in several different directions. Some of these directions seem to be grounded in reality and some seem surreal. I would imagine that all trajectories are interesting and literate in Howard’s very capable hands. Once again, it’s as if this book doesn’t exist if one were to look for it in the ether yet, here it is. I really like this Howard guy. He walks that fine line between the kitchen table and wooden spoon and a extravagant dining room with fine china and silver. #51620
