Black humor set in the not too distant future. A group of settlers/survivors depart the ravaged island of Manhattan just as the Chrysler building collapses. The head down I-95 in an armor-plated school bus. They intend to establish an outpost in Virginia, find oil, and exploit the Indians known to live in the area. Things don’t go well. Leadership is contested, people continually lose body parts. Indian Chief Powhatan and his ever-present psychiatrist Sidney Feingold (aka Sit Knee Find Gold) confuse and confound the would-be settlers/conquerors. Blood flows, romance flourishes (Pocahontas is courted via text messages) and the situation goes from funny to hilarious. Looks kinda like a funny version of FISKADORO. regardless, you don’t find SF like this very often. Half Thunder Dome and half Monty Python. Bravo! I like it and I haven’t read a word. No remainder mark! #36006
