An extremely interesting book for a number of reasons. A book of pictures and short bios of a number of prominent Native Americans. Seven of those profiled in this book sign and/or inscribe the book on their profile page to the book’s previous owner. Nice. What’s really nice is that one of those to sign (with no inscription) is Jim Thorpe. Thorpe’s signature appears above his name and photo on the page with his entry. The previous owner was obviously very proud of this as the page was marked both with tape (since removed) and a paper clip that, ultimately, resulted in a hole about .33 inches by 1.0 inches adjacent to Thorpe’s signature. A wonder historical document in its own right. However, the Jim Thorpe fan, or autograph collector, could excise this page, place a matte behind it, and frame it, rendering the hole nearly invisible. There is a tape ghost near the signature as well but, overall, this is quite a remarkable item and a genuine rarity. #62733
