Item #55465 The Lustre of Time. John Howard.

The Lustre of Time

L’Homme Recent (Ex Occidente Press):
Bucharest: 2015
First edition, Hardcover, SIGNED (card), Limited, New in dust jacket,
93 pp.

This copy with a card, signed by the author, laid in. This edition is limited to 85 numbered copies. This is the second in the projected five-volume L’Homme Recent imprint from Ex Occidente. This book is quite a bit heftier (in terms of the page count) than the Mark Valentine book And I’d Be the King of China: The Strange Life of Charles Welsh Mason, which was the first in the series. This Howard title is 93 pages in length. This reporter has read Howard quite extensively and can honestly say that I believe him to be a modern master. He’s an amazingly lyrical, visual and talented weaver of words. In addition to that, the process of securing these signed cards gave me occasion to exchange missives with the man himself. I found him to be a very congenial and personable fellow and I enjoyed our exchanges quite a lot. Conclusion: I endorse both the man and his works. #55465
