I need this. Maybe you do too. Baxter grew up in rural Australia in the 1950s. There weren’t a lot of book collectors in rural Australia in the 1950s. He was compulsive and determined. His search for the rare, the obscure, and for those titles most important to he himself eventually took him all over the world. Unlike most book dealers and collectors, Baxter’s passion ultimately elevated him to a penthouse and a collection worth millions. Baxter is also a novelist in his own right as well as a biographer, film critic and broadcaster. I believe this book will go a long way toward illuminating the forces that drive a collector and will shed some light on the book publishing and bookselling industries as well. Off to the night stand with it! #20979
